Hi … i have been trying many tools till this date to make my freelancing chores at least a bit smoother, but i am still unable to find a right tool for my requirement. I am a single freelancer so i will not require the complex forms or features provided by some of the industries leading tools, i am a single man army so i will not require much specialised project management tools nor such people/resource management tools provided by the major tools in the trade, All i want is a SIMPLE tool that can manage my project at hand, do time allotment for me and also let me track my time used up and also help to Invoice my clients.

I know lots of tools and services nowadays facilitates all the things i have mentioned previously, but still i am unable to find a good SIMPLE one stop all solution to all my problems, a tool that have been developed solely for the freelancing community.

So I have decided to make one :)

But my next issue was HOW ?

ok, we have  a dozen or more application programming languages in the world so why worry ? Hmm there is a  reason to my worry, and the reason is that since this being a non profit project for me i will not be able to dedicate much time to this project and to worsen the situation i need to allot time to learn new technologies too.

But what i believe is that there is a solution to all issues, so i have decided to develop this new application in ‘Ruby on Rails’ RoR, why RoR; i selected RoR due to two reasons

1. It seems they are the father of all ‘frameworks’ in PHP, so i will be able to learn some great stuff there

2. I have heard RoR propagates ‘Getting real’ concept which too will be a great learning curve for me and last but not the least the pure Joy of learning a new language to speak (of course to the computers :) )

So i want all the budding and already flourished freelancers out there to give me some inputs so that we can get the rock rolling :)
